Prague has for several weeks a new interesting gastronomic address.
Renowned chef Jan Punčochář, most recently associated with the famous restaurant Grand Cru, recently opened his first own business. Restaurant U Matěje 1 is exclusively focused on traditional Czech cuisine in the best possible quality.
Jan Punčochář himself says about the new project: Having a restaurant specializing in Czech cuisine was my longtime dream. U Matěje we will do things honestly, as it has always been. No small portions in the middle of the plates, but large portions in the middle of the tables. “
U Matěje restaurant has been opened in late spring 2019. They focus on modern and traditional Czech cuisine. Taste the meat from their smokehouse, delicious sauces and seasonal specialities. Come to have a stunning tank Pilsner beer and a homemade schnapps from the master distiller Václav Šitner.
