South Moravia two days trip UNESCO and Wine
South Moravia two days trip UNESCO and Wine
Together with our guides, visit the most amazing UNESCO sites located in South Moravia – Telč, Mikulov, and Lednice Castle. Taste the best Czech wines and food in a unique vineyard atmosphere!
This amazing trip, without any doubt our most beloved one and a real flagship of our company, has only two main topics: the best South Moravian UNESCO sites and amazing wines from this region. Our tour starts in Prague in the early morning hours. After a journey of about two and a half hours in a comfortable air-conditioned minibus with refreshments on board and wi-fi available, we will arrive at the beautiful and charming Renaissance town of Telč. This fantastic town, a UNESCO world heritage site, was founded in the 13th century and for a long time was one of the most important business crossroads between Bohemia, Moravia, and Austria. There we will have a three-course tasting lunch in a cosy local restaurant. After lunch we will spend another two hours in the town to visit the castle and the beautiful Renaissance town square with lots of picturesque houses, mostly decorated with sgraffito.
Our next stop, after a journey of about two hours, will be Mikulov, a fairytale historical town founded in the middle of the 13th century. Currently, Mikulov, in the South Moravia region, is its most important tourist and wine centre, with lots of amazing vineyards surrounding the town. Many of them were already founded in the 13th and 14th centuries and form the main wine areas of the Czech Republic.
What will we do there? First of all, a little sightseeing in the town. Mikulov really has a lot to offer, but to be honest, the main reason will be to get our stomachs in good condition, because later we will move to an amazing local winery for a fabulous dinner and, above all, for wine tasting!! You will have the opportunity to taste some of the best Czech wines in unique wine cellars. We will have quite a lot of time, because our accommodation is located nearby, in a cosy and charming small local boutique hotel.
The second day of our trip will start with breakfast in Mikulov. After breakfast and a journey of about half an hour we will visit the amazing neo-Gothic chateau at Lednice, another amazing UNESCO World Heritage Site considered to be one of the most amazing chateaux in the Czech Republic. Located in a stunning park with lots of picturesque buildings, this will be one of the highlights of our trip. In addition to the castles, there are many large or small residential pavilions located throughout the designed landscape, often serving as chateaux or hunting lodges.
After a three-course tasting lunch in a charming local restaurant we will visit another famous winery to taste their wines, with the option of doing some wine shopping.
Expected return to Prague about 8 PM
