South Bohemia UNESCO Heritage two days trip

South Bohemia UNESCO Heritage two days trip

Visit the most fabulous places in South Bohemia with us! UNESCO sites Slavonice, Telč, Hluboká castle, Třeboň and Český Krumlov waiting to be discovered by you ! With amazing food as well !

This amazing trip, a real flagship of our company, starts in Prague in the early morning hours. After a journey of about two and a half hours in a comfortable air-conditioned minibus with refreshments on board and wi-fi available, we will arrive at the beautiful and charming Renaissance town of Slavonice. In mediaeval times this stunning town, with its amazing centre wilth lots of historical houses from the 14th-16th centuries, was a very important business junction on the way between Prague and Vienna. The town is therefore very well preserved in its Renaissance appearance. Slavonice is very popular not only because of its preserved Renaissance town centre but also the underground tunnel system dating back to the 12th century and the surrounding countryside, which is unspoiled by industry.

From Slavonice we will move on about 30 km to another famous Renaissance town, Telč, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This fantastic town was founded in the 13th century and for a long time was one of the most important business crossroads between Bohemia, Moravia, and Austria. There we will have a three-course tasting lunch in a cosy local restaurant. After lunch we will spend another two hours in the town to visit the castle and the beautiful Renaissance town square with lots of picturesque houses, mostly decorated with sgraffito.

Our next stop, after a journey of about an hour, will be Třeboň, a fairytale historical town, founded in the middle of the 12th century. Currently, Třeboň is a South Bohemian tourist and spa centre with lots of romantic fish ponds surrounding the city. Many of them were founded as early as in the 15th and 16th centuries and some are among the biggest in the Czech Republic. The famous local carp also belong among the most important Czech export items.

In Třeboň we will have a small bike tour or walk through the town (as you wish) and in the evening dinner in a beautiful fish restaurant. Accommodation is arranged in a cosy and charming small local boutique hotel.

The second day of our trip will start with breakfast in Třeboň. After breakfast and a journey of about half an hour we will visit the amazing neo-Gothic chateau Hluboká Castle, considered to be one of the most amazing castles in the Czech Republic. Located in a stunning park and with richly decorated interiors, this will be one of the highlights of this trip.

Another half an hour of travel, and we will be in Český Krumlov. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a lively, cosmopolitan town with a unique atmosphere surrounded by unspoiled countryside. Dominated by a castle stretching over the meandering River Vltava, Český Krumlov’s narrow cobbled streets wind along romantic nooks between patrician houses where you’ll find attractive exhibits of world-renowned artists, music festivals and concerts, and theatre performances. The cosy inns, coffee shops, and ancient taverns entertain a diverse international crowd. You can admire more than 300 historical buildings, and, together with your English-speaking guide, visit the castle, with its amazing Baroque theatre, and the castle moat, with bears living there.

After a three-course tasting lunch in a charming restaurant we will visit the art museum and take a walk to discover the magic of the city centre.

On the way back to Prague a short stop is planned in Holašovice, a small historic village. The village was deserted after the Second World War, allowing its mediaeval plan and vernacular buildings in the South Bohemian Folk or Rural Baroque style to remain intact. It was restored and repopulated from 1990, and it was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1998. It consists of 23 brick farms containing 120 buildings, each with its gable end facing a central broad village green, with a fish pond and chapel.

Dear customers,

I am deeply sorry to inform you that unfortunately our company will no longer be able to provide any trips and as of today, we are closing all the bookings.

This decision was hard to make and it came as a result of a sudden death of our CEO, who also was my beloved father, and we are not able to provide an adequate experience for you as we need some time to deal with both practical matters and our grief.

I would like to kindly ask you to cancel your reservations yourselves, so you are able to get the full refund as soon as possible.

If you had a chance to enjoy any of our trips with Láďa (Vladimir), I whole-heartedly believe you have enjoyed yourselves and created some unforgettable memories together and I hope as well that Láďa will be remembered in your hearts in the same way that he is in mine. I would be pleased to hear about your experiences with my dad and if you'd like to send me any photos, stories or memories, I greatly encourage you to do so.

Thank you for your understanding and your cooperation in these difficult times.

Should there be any other questions, don’t hesitate to contact me via my personal e-mail: barbora.stejskal@gmail.com or phone: +420 603 382 933

Sincerely,

Barbora Stejskal
