An amazing half-day trip to the Konopiště chateau, home of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, combined with a visit to one of the most famous breweries. There you can enjoy lunch in the brewery restaurant.
This amazing half-day trip starts in Prague in the morning hours. After a journey of about 45 minutes in a comfortable air-conditioned minibus with refreshments on board and wi-fi available, we will arrive at Konopiště, one of the most exciting Czech chateaux, founded in 1280. This stunning chateau is well known as a residence of the Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria, heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne, whose assassination in Sarajevo triggered World War I. The bullet that killed him is today a part of the exhibition in the chateau museum. We will visit the residential rooms of Franz Ferdinand, the huge collection of armour and mediaeval weapons, the shooting gallery, and the amazing park, with its greenhouses.
Our next stop will be an excursion to the brewery located in the town of Velké Popovice, since 1875 the home of the famous Velkopopovický Kozel beer, with some tasting of delicious beers and a nice lunch.
The expected return to Prague about 4 PM
