Karlštejn Castle And Famous Glass Factory
Karlštejn Castle And Famous Glass Factory
A day trip to the Gothic royal castle Karlštejn and the gorgeous Velká Amerika canyon, with a visit to the traditional Nižbor glassworks. Enjoy a three-course tasting lunch in a charming restaurant!
This very nice half-day trip starts in Prague in the morning hours. After a journey of about one hour in a comfortable air-conditioned minibus with refreshments and wi-fi available, we will arrive at the most exciting Czech castle, Karlštejn, founded in 1348 by Charles IV, the most powerful Czech emperor. This monumental castle on a hill was built for storing royal treasures, holy relics, and the crown jewels. We will spend about one and a half hours visiting the most important parts of the castle together.
After about a half an hour-long journey there is one more excursion, to the stunning glassworks in Nižbor, where you can admire the art of traditional Czech crystal glass and the skills of the glassmakers, passed down through the generations, optionally with some shopping at the end of the visit.
After this fantastic visit, you will be already hungry for sure! No worries, there is a tasting lunch in a cosy local restaurant ready for you. You will enjoy fantastic food in Old Bohemian Style but in a very modern version. Also, some beer or wine tasting will be ready for you.
Important information: Saturdays and Sundays are the glassworks closed. These days the excursion in the glassworks is replaced by the visit to the historical brewery with tasting locally made beers. Price and schedule of the trip remain the same.
