Day trip: Dresden – pearl of Germany with lunch

Join us on a unique trip to one of the most beautiful cities in Germany. Let’s visit amazing Frauenkirche church, famous Dresden Cathedral and world-famous museum Zwinger

After the destruction of World War II, the city was left in ruins. It wasn’t until the fall of the Berlin Wall that the city really got to work restoring its buildings. The skyline is now peppered with elegant towers, spires and domes from the myriad of palaces, state buildings and churches that reside throughout the city.

Once called the Florence of the North, the city’s landscape is covered in historic sites.

This unique trip starts in Prague in the morning hours. After about a two hourʼs journey we will arrive at the unique Saxony baroque town.

In the beginning, we will visit stunning Bruhl´s Terrace, sometimes called “Balcony of Europe”.From the terrace, we can look across the and see historic architecture lining the streets of Dresden Neustadt.

After a cup of coffee and a famous local pastry, we will visit the breathtaking Frauenkirche church, seriously damaged during World War II and recently restored. After visiting this renowned church, we will admire ingenious Furstenzug – The Procession of Princes. As it stands over 10 metres tall, you’ll need to crane your neck to take in the detailed artwork.

The next stop will be famous Dresden Cathedral with intricate sculptures and reliefs covering the façadel. The inside of the cathedral includes a stone pulpit and the tombs of former Saxon rulers. After walking through the doors, your eyes immediately go to a large painting of Jesus Christ ascending into the sky.

And after the amazing lunch in the cosy local restaurant, we will finish the trip with the visit of the world-famous Zwinger are with their museums of art and amazing porcelain.

The expected return to Prague about 7 PM

Price includes English-speaking guide, admission fee to the Zwinger, entrance fee to Dresden chateau, three-course lunch menu with beer or wine, light refreshment during the journey, free wi-fi onboard.
